Contact announces Elena Trout to join Board
Today Contact Energy Limited (Contact) announced that Elena Trout has been
appointed as a director to join its Board on 3 October 2016.

Board. Elena brings a depth of infrastructure and energy sector experience to
the Board" said Sir Ralph Norris, Contact''s Chairman.
Elena Trout is an experienced company director and a professional engineer
who has held a number of leadership positions in the transport,
infrastructure and energy sectors. She is the current President of the
Institution of Professional Engineers of New Zealand (IPENZ) and is a Fellow
of the Institution as well as a Fellow of Engineers Australia, and is a
Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors.
Elena serves on a number of boards including Harrison Grierson a consulting
engineering firm, Marsden Maritime Holdings and EECA. She was one of the
inaugural directors of the Electricity Authority and has recently resigned
from that role. Prior to being a director of the Electricity Authority she
was a director of Transpower. In late 2014 Elena was appointed to undertake
an independent assessment of Christchurch''s horizontal infrastructure rebuild
programme.
Elena will fill a casual vacancy from 3 October until the 2016 annual
meeting, then will stand for election by shareholders at that meeting.
The Contact Board has determined that Elena Trout will be an independent
director.
