THERE are delays to services between Wareham and Weymouth this afternoon.
The line was blocked due to an obstruction at Moreton.
At around 4pm South West Trains tweeted: “Replacement buses are en route to Weymouth where they will run to Wareham and back due to an obstruction on the line at Moreton”
A South West Trains-Network Rail Alliance spokesperson, later said: “An obstruction on the line near Moreton disrupted services between Wareham and Weymouth this afternoon. However, the line has now reopened.
“We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to passengers and there will be some delays while services in the area recover.”
The spokesman said the obstruction was a metal pole, believed to be from a tent, which caused some minor damage to a passing train when it came in contact with the electrical circuit.
