Best-performing baby formula S&P/ASX 200 stand-out stocks A2 Milk Company Ltd (ASX: A2M) and Bellamy's Australia Ltd (ASX: BAL) are on the top of the gains list today, with A2 Milk up 4.5% to $12.13 at the time of writing and Bellamy's rising 7.1% to $21.21.

It is no secret A2 Milk and Bellamy's shares have experienced incredible 12-month gains, with A2's price today up 334% from its $2.79 share price at this time last year and Bellamy's rising 369% from its $4.52 price at this time last year.

Both A2 and Bellamy's booked small slips in price last week as they followed the overall index down, but investors didn't have long to wait for a correction, with company fundamentals for both players indicating the future is nothing but rosy going forward.

Little brothers attempting to break into the coveted baby formula space are Jatenergy Ltd (ASX: JAT) and Synlait Milk Ltd (ASX: SM1) both of which also booked decent gains today, with Jatenergy up 4.6% to 22c per share at the time of writing and Synlait up 1.1% to $8.19.

But it will be a long time before any of the smaller players catch up to the likes of Bellamy's and A2.
