Where's the Easter Bunny?

With Easter coming up April 1, children and parents will be looking for events featuring that big bunny and those colorful hidden eggs.

Here are a few Tuscaloosa-area events in the coming days where you can find the Easter Bunny, egg hunts or both:

• Kids can hop in to University Mall, 1701 McFarland Blvd., for a visit and a photo with the Easter Bunny right now through March 31. Also at the mall’s center court, kids can ride the Spring Express train for $3 while the Easter Bunny is there. The Easter Bunny’s hours will be 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Sunday. • Children can have breakfast with the Easter Bunny during a March 17 event organized by Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority.

The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Bobby Miller Activity Center, 350 Bobby Miller Parkway. The cost is $6 per child and $4 per adult.

Children 10 and younger can have a picture made with the Easter Bunny. Breakfast will be provided by Chick-fil-A.

After breakfast, kids can participate in an egg hunt and play in the Miller Center's indoor playground.

Here's the tentative schedule: photos and breakfast from 8:30-9:45 a.m.; egg hunt for children 2 and younger from 9:45-10; egg hunt for 3- to 5-year-olds from 10:05-10:25 a.m.; egg hunt for 6- to 10-year-olds from 10:30-10:45 a.m.

Age groups not hunting eggs will play in the indoor play area while other groups are hunting.

Egg hunt times are subject to change. Check the schedule upon arrival.

• Egg the City, featuring 50,000 eggs, will be held from 10 a.m. until noon March 24 at the track at Tuscaloosa County High School, 12500 Wildcat Drive in Northport. The free event will include bounce houses, slides, carnival games, a photo booth, face painting, train rides, popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones.

• Midtown Village will host SpringFest from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. March 24 on the Green, between Barnes and Noble Booksellers and Panera Bread.

SpringFest will feature the Easter Bunny, an egg hunt, balloon twisters, inflatable bounce houses and more.

The egg hunt is for 3- to 10-year-old children. Egg hunters will be separated into age groups: 3- and 4-year-olds, 5- through 7-year-olds and 8- through 10-year-olds. All children must bring their own Easter basket.

Midtown Village is at 1800 McFarland Blvd. E.

• A community Easter egg hunt will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. March 24 in the school field at University Place Elementary, 2000 First Ave. The hunt will have 12,000 eggs, food, games and an inflatable bounce house.

• Griffin Farms Pumpkin Patch will host an Easter event on March 25, featuring pictures with the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt.

The Easter celebration will be from 1-6 p.m. at Griffin Farms, 826 Griffin Road in West Blocton, just outside Vance near the Mercedes-Benz plant. Admission is $6 per person.

Kids cab take a hayride to the Easter egg hunt. Other attractions offered with admission include a petting zoo, inflatable bounce houses, a zip line and a rock wall.

Food and craft vendors, pony rides and face painting will be available for an additional price.

Kids must bring their own Easter baskets.  Each child between the ages of 2 and 12 will be limited to 10 eggs filled with candy. Parents should bring their own cameras.

• The Children's Hands-On Museum will host an Eggstra Special Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on March 31. The event will feature Easter games and crafts.
