He was caught on surveillance camera pinching four dollars' worth of products from his former employer - and, now, 38 year old Antonio Novelo will have to pay more than 100 times that to keep his freedom.
The former Augusto Quan employee appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford and pled guilty to theft. Yesterday, the Augusto Quan camera saw him lifting a screw driver and two television splitters, all to a total value of four dollars.
He was fined five hundred dollars for that four dollar theft and given until January 15 to pay. If he defaults on payment he will serve 5 months.
