KDB, transfer gossip and praise from a Brazilian legend – it’s your Tuesday media round-up!

Firstly, we start with assist king, Kevin De Bruyne, as Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes that the Belgian already has one hand on the PFA Player of the Year Award despite only being 12 games into the Premier League season!

De Bruyne scored his latest goal against Leicester City away at the King Power Stadium with a glorious shot which doubled City’s lead against the Foxes.

Although we aren’t even half way through the season yet, Carragher is convinced that the midfielder’s form will be recognised and rewarded at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the match, the former Liverpool defender said: “He’s already got one hand on the PFA Player of the Year trophy, even though we are only 12 or 13 games in.”

“He’s got the best right foot in the Premier League right now,” Carragher stated, as quoted by the Daily Mail. “It’s right up there with Beckham and Gerrard.

“He’s scored four goals this season – three of them with his left foot. How do you stop this man when he is on the edge of the box?”

That’s not all the media were saying about KDB…

Gossip from Spain claims that Real Madrid are keen on recruiting our midfielder.

The report comes from Spanish outlet Don Ballon, and writer Matias Garcia has claimed that the La Liga side are apparently prepared to submit a mega-money bid for the Belgian.

When translated from Spanish, the story reads: “If anything is showing this start of the season it’s that Real Madrid needs new reinforcements and the list of candidates to reach the Santiago Bernabéu is wide.

“And one of them is in Europe: Manchester City. Florentino Perez has paid attention to Guardiola’s star to reinforce the core of his team: Kevin De Bruyne.

“The Belgian is one of the best players not only in the Premier League, but in the world.

“Florentino Perez would be willing to reach 100 million euros to take the midfielder.”

Finally, moving on from the rumours, Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has lavished Pep Guardiola and City striker Gabriel Jesus with praise following the Blues’ impressive start to the season.

Speaking to the Mirror, Ronaldinho believes that Pep has more understanding of football than any other coach.

“As a player, he was already playing with a very technical mind, so he was playing as a coach, thinking about everything like a coach,” the football legend explained. “So he has a deep knowledge of football.

“Wherever he goes, he understands much more than a normal coach. He understands the feeling on the field.

“But Guardiola’s style of arranging the team, passing the ball and the beautiful game that everybody likes to watch, means it would be a pleasure for any player to have the honour to play for him.”

The 37-year-old also spoke about Gabriel Jesus, and commented that he enjoys his fellow Brazilian’s style of play.

“I totally believe he will have a big part to play for City going forward,” Ronaldinho added. “I love his style of playing. I truly believe that at City he will make a difference.”
