Eurozone Sentix investor confidence

The Eurozone Sentix Investor Confidence Index stood at 28.2 for September 2017 as compared to 27.7 in August 2017. The September reading surpassed the market expectation of 27.4.

According to the Sentix report, investors are more optimistic in September 2017. The index figures generally come out in the middle of the month and show expectations for the rest of the month. In the last one year, investor confidence has been improving gradually.

The constant rise in the Eurozone Sentix investor confidence is signaling that investors’ confidence is gradually strengthening in the economy. In the previous part of this series, we discussed that major economic indicators of the Eurozone (EZU) (VGK) are improving gradually.

Business confidence is also improving gradually. Firms are optimistic about the demand outlook of the economy (IEV). The rising consumer confidence in the economy is proving this.

Performance of various ETFs

On a month-to-date basis, the iShares MSCI Eurozone (EZU) and the Vanguard FTSE Europe ETF (VGK) returned nearly 2.9% and 2.7%, respectively, as of September 20, 2017.
