It's turning into a great day for the euro

Merkel today said the eurozone is more united than ever while in the United States it looks like Trump is about to face another round of Russia headaches just as he tries to help push through healthcare reform.

The euro is now trading at the best levels since May 2016 with a high of 1.1477, up 70 pips on the day. It started out as a slow one but the euro gradually climbed and jumped 20 pips on a run on stops above levels Greg had just highlighted.

On the weekly chart, there isn't much left standing in the way of the 1.16 zone.
