2 Rome women injured in town of Western car accident

Observer-Dispatch

WESTERN - Two women were sent to the hospital following a two-car collision at the intersection of State Route 46 and Gifford Hill Road late Friday night, according to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.

C. M. Laribee, 25, of Rome, was traveling south on State Route 46 when Kyle T. Baker, 20, of Lee, entered the intersection traveling west from Gifford Hill Road, deputies said.

When Laribee tried to avoid Baker's vehicle, the front of Laribee's vehicle struck the passenger-side front of Baker's vehicle.

Sarah J. Thurston, 29, of Rome, and Danielle N. Brady, 26, of Rome, were passengers in Laribee's vehicle and were transported to Rome Memorial Hospital via AmCare ambulance for their injuries, deputies said.

Baker is to appear in Western Town Court for failure to yield right of way, officials said.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Westernville Fire Department and New York State Police.
