Vatukoula defeated Tavua 34-23 during the 2016 Skipper Cup match at Garvey Park yesterday.

What happened:

Vatukoula’s Emori Ratu kicked a field goal in the 20th minute but Tavua replied a minute later with a try to Jo Bubuta which was converted, 7-3.

Tavua extended the lead with a penalty in the 32nd minute, 10-3.

Ratu scored the in the 35th minute. Halftime:  Vatukoula 10-10 Tavua.

In the second half Vatukoula scored three tries to Tavua’s one.

In the 47th minute a try from Etueti Burotu was converted by Kitione Ratu, 17-10.

In the 53rd minute Tavua’s Jo Bubuta kicked a field goal, 17-13.

Saimoni Tuilaucala of Vatukoula scored a try converted by Kitione in the 56th minute of play.

Jo Bubuta again kicked a penalty in the 61st minute 27-13.

In the 63rd minute, Vatukoula scored a try which was scored by Emori and converted by Kitione.

Kitione kicked another penalty in the 72nd minute.

Eroni Qasi scored for Vatukoula in the 77th minute which was converted by Bubuta, 34-23.

Vatukoula team manager: “I’m happy with the win. We’ve three more home games and they we be training hard to secure more victories.”
