  • FRANKFORD LEGION EVENTS: The Summer schedule for the Frankford Legion will start on the 1st of may as follows: Seniors fitness program are every Mondays and Thursdays starting at 1 p.m. Open Cribbage will start at 1 p.m. every Mondays. Moonshine euchre will be at 1 pm every Tuesday. Line Dancing will be at 7 p.m. every Tuesdays. A T.G.I.F will be every 1st Friday of the month with games and a meal. Open mic will be happening every 1st Sunday of the month. There will be a mixed pool tournament every last Sunday of the month starting at 11.30 a.m.
  • APRIL TO MAY: Come be part of the Knitterati! Belleville Public Library will be hosting a social knitting circle, “Knitterati” starting in April. This is a free drop-in program where you can bring in your knitting, crochet, or other fiber craft project to the second floor of the Library to work as a group, chat, and meet other knitters!   • APR. 30, MAY 28: The Belleville Public Library is pleased to announce that we will be providing our FREE Genealogy 101 workshop twice this spring. We will explore the many ways the Library can assist genealogists in compiling their family history, as well as going over some helpful hints and tips. We will also tour our facilities including our local history collection and we will finish the afternoon with some hands-on training using both Ancestry.com and our Belleville History Alive database.   • May 5–31: The 5th Annual Downtown Belleville Student Art Show is a professional juried show, with several cash prizes, and a great opportunity to display the talents of local student artists. The artwork will be displayed in a show themed “Community” at the Core Arts and Culture Centre (233 Pinnacle Street). The opening reception will be held Thursday, May 5th, 2016 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the show continuing throughout the weekend. We invite the public to attend and celebrate the multitude of talent in our community. After the conclusion of the gallery show, the art work will be on display in various downtown windows creating The Downtown Student Art Walk for the month of May.   • JULY 23-24: The Belleville Fire Department will be hosting the Southern Ontario Regional Firefit Championships this year. The event will take place July 23 and 24 with a Corporate Challenge taking place on Friday July 22 with all of the proceeds benefiting the Belleville Firefighters Toy Drive. The Competition will be held at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Center and will be starting at 11:00 am each day with the individuals running on Saturday and the Relay and X3 going on the Sunday. We will be hosting about 150 Firefighters from across Ontario with at least one Firefighter coming in from Newfoundland. The Firefit Championships  is an exciting event that showcases the 5 basic evolutions that we encounter at most fires. We have a website up now at bellevillefirefit.com which will have frequent additions of sponsors, activities for the competitors and Corporate Challenge.
