PENDLETON, Ore. -- A barn fire closed down a portion of highway 395 in Pendleton Monday night as fire crews worked to contain the flames, according to a news release from the City of Pendleton.

Firefighters responded to the 43000 block of Covey Lane around 11 p.m. Monday night and found a fully involved barn. The news release says crews were challenged by burning power lines, and limited water supply and manpower.

The fire was contained according to fire crews, and highway 395 was closed down for approximately two and a half hours while firefighters worked to put out the fire.

The news release sent out by the city said the Pilot Rock Fire Department provided aid. The Oregon State Police, Umatilla County Sheriff's office and Pacific Power also assisted in the incident.

Pendleton Fire Department and the Oregon State Fire Marshal are still investigating the cause of the fire.
