The ten students selected for the Crest Chicken ‘Cool Stuff for Schools” (CFS) campaign to New Zealand were reminded of their roles as Fijian ambassadors.

Goodman Fielder General manager, Chris Zaayman relayed this message yesterday at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva yesterday.

Mr Zaayman said they are proud to be able to offer this exchange for a second year in a row.

“When we launched the initiative in 2014, we also introduced a cultural exchange program that allowed participating schools to nominate a student to be selected for the all expenses paid trip of a lifetime,” he said.

Year Eight student, Seinibiaukula Fung of Dilkhusa Methodist School, Nausori thanked organisers for the once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity.

“I am forever grateful for this opportunity and I hope upon my return to help children my age and tell them the experience of participating in such program,” she said.

Meanwhile, Director for Heritage and Arts, Lusiana Fotofili said she was delighted for the ten Fijian students.

She acknowledged the good work by the management and staff of Goodman Fielder in bringing about a project that allowed for the students cultural exchange.

“While we may say that a business company’s priority is making profit, Goodman Fielder differs in that it is obsessed with improving the quality of education of our children.”

“They are sending not only one but ten students and two teachers for this cultural exchange and in 2014, the students visited Australia, this year, 2015 they are visiting New Zealand,” Mrs Fotofili said.

Mrs Fotofili also advised students to promote Fiji schools to students in New Zealand and tell them that Fiji is one Place they need to see for its tranquility; beauty; economic stability; cultural attraction and its geographical closeness.
