Chrissy Teigen leaves her underwear at home for a revealing arrival with John Legend at the MTV Video Music Awards

Chrissy Teigen left little to the imagination in a revealing gown worn to the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

The 29-year-old model and TV celebrity arrived on the red carpet with husband John Legend, 36, one of the night's nominees.

What Chrissy did not appear to have was her underwear - a Marchesa dress made of sheer fabric and lace made it clear that nothing was worn underneath.

At first glance, Chrissy almost looked to be modestly dressed - her sleeveless gown featured a high neck and a floor-length skirt.

The fabric of the dress, however, was alternately made of skimpy lace and sheer drapery, both of which revealed plenty of skin.

This feature of the dress was most clearly visible from the side, an angle that showed distinct side-boob - no bra could have easily been hidden in what little was covered.

That same side-view also revealed a glance at Chrissy's lower stomach and upper thigh - neither seemed to be covered by any undergarments.

Chrissy accessorized her racy look with black and green jewellery, most notably two very large green stones on the Sports Illustrated model's rings.

As for John, he seemed content to let Chrissy take the fashion spotlight - the singer's all-black attire consisted of a V-neck shirt under a jacket, along with leather trousers.

He did not need to rely on clothing to impress though, since John shared a VMA trophy with Big Sean and Kanye West for Best Video with a Social Message for their One Man Can Change The World.

Married in 2013, Chrissy and John have become one of the most in-demand celebrity couples.

While John has a series of international concerts coming throughout the fall, Chrissy is moving from her Lip Sync Battle hosting gig to working as the co-host of the upcoming FABLife.
