Pound to Rand Exchange Rate Rises as Emerging Markets Hit by China Slowdown

The Pound to Rand exchange rate surged by around 1.0 per cent on Monday afternoon.

After China’s economic data showed industrial profits contracted significantly, emerging market assets saw dampened demand amid trader risk-aversion strategies.

The Rand (ZAR) exchange rate plummeted versus its major peers as gold and platinum prices continue to decline. The absence of any South African data should see the Rand hold losses versus its major peers during Monday’s trade.

The Pound Sterling to South African Rand exchange rate is currently trending in the region of 21.2690, moving between a low of 20.9320 to 21.3480 during Monday’s European session.

UK Pound to Norwegian Krone Conversion Rate Predicted to Advance as Oil Prices Cool

The Pound Sterling to Norwegian Krone exchange rate ticked higher by around 0.3% on Monday afternoon.

In spite of a complete absence of British economic data to provoke Sterling volatility, the UK asset strengthened versus many of its major peers. The uptrend can be lined to a report from economic forecasters Ernst and Young which stated that the UK was safe against secular stagnation that could provoke a global economic slowdown. This is thanks to improving UK business investment which hit 11% this year.

The Pound Sterling to Norwegian Krone exchange rate is currently trending in the region of 12.9795.

After industrial profits in China contracted by -8.8% in August, oil prices slumped. This is due to the fact that China’s economic slowdown will see long periods of damp demand for crude from the world’s second-largest economy. With a complete lack of domestic data to provoke changes, the Krone is likely to hold losses for the remainder of Monday’ trade.

The Pound Sterling to Norwegian Krone exchange rate was trending within the range of 12.9125 to 13.0856 during Monday’s European session.

British Pound to Swedish Krona Exchange Rate Predicted to Rally after Poor Swedish Data Results

The Pound Sterling to Swedish Krona exchange rate rallied by around 0.6% on Monday afternoon.

Although the Pound Sterling strengthened versus many of its major peers, the uptrend has been somewhat sluggish. This was due to a report from the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) which suggested that the global slowdown in China would cause the Bank of England (BoE) to delay a benchmark interest rate hike into mid 2016, having previously predicted lift-off in February of next year.

The Pound Sterling to Swedish Krona exchange rate is currently trending in the region of 12.8573.

After Swedish economic data produced poor results, the Krona dived versus its major rivals. August’s Trade Balance data saw Sweden’s deficit widen to -3.6 billion. August’s Retail Sales came in at only 1.0% growth on the year, well below the median market forecast 3.36% growth. On the month, August’s Retail Sales declined by -1.7%.

The Pound Sterling to Swedish Krona exchange rate was trending within the range of 12.7480 to 12.9012 during Monday’s European session.

Pound Sterling to Danish Krone Conversion Rate Edges Higher amid Refugee Crisis

The Pound Sterling to Danish Krone exchange rate edged higher by around 0.1% on Monday afternoon. Despite a complete absence of Danish economic data to provoke movement, the Krone advanced thanks to speculation that Tuesday’s Business Confidence report will improve. However, the ongoing refugee crisis has hit Denmark hard which has allowed the GBP/DKK spot rate to edge fractionally higher.

The Pound Sterling to Danish Krone exchange rate is currently trending in the region of 10.1070, moving between a low of 10.0940 to a high of 10.1670.

ZAR, NOK, DKK and SEK Exchange Rates Update 29/09/2015

The Pound Sterling to Norwegian Krone exchange rate declined by around -0.5% on Tuesday morning after crude oil prices found a little support from slowing US output.

The Pound Sterling to Swedish Krona conversion rate also declined by around -0.5% after a 2.0% drop in the Shanghai Composite Index made UK stock traders uneasy.

The Pound Sterling to Danish Krone exchange rate edged lower by around -0.1% with traders looking ahead to tomorrow’s Danish second-quarter growth figures.
