Manchester City's record signing Kevin De Bruyne and Chelsea's Eden Hazard scored for Belgium as they grabbed a 3-1 victory against Bosnia Herzegovenia in the Euro 2016 qualifiers on Thursday.

De Bruyne, who joined the English club from Wolfsburg last week for a record 75 million euros ($83.6 million), helped Belgium take the lead with a long-range shot at the stroke of half time. Currently second in Group B, Belgium next play Cyprus on Sunday.

Their Group B rivals Wales were not at their best in their 1-0 win away to Cyprus, but the three points - secured thanks to a late Gareth Bale header - see them one win away from returning to a major tournament for the first time in nearly 60 years. Israel, their opponents on Sunday, warmed up for their trip to Cardiff with a 4-0 thrashing of Andorra.

In Group A, the Netherlands suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Iceland, with Arjen Robben going off injured early on in the game. He'll miss Sunday's match against Turkey, which the Dutch go into in third place six points behind second. Iceland leads the group with 18 points and only needs one more win to reach their first ever major tournament.

Italy beat Malta 1-0 thanks to a Graziano Pelle strike in the 69th minute, taking them to the top of Group H, while Croatia were held 0-0 at minnows Azerbaijan.

Germany is set to face Poland on Friday evening.
