CONSTRUCTION

Wilmington-based construction management firm EDiS Company recently added six new employees. Craig Chaney was added to the field management team. With more than 30 years of experience in commercial and government construction, Chaney previously ran his own company and worked on several projects at Aberdeen Proving Ground. T.J. DeMatteis joined the company as a project engineer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in applied engineering and technology management from Millersville University in May and interned for EDiS last summer. Jay Deputy joined the company as a field manager. He has 28 years of experience in the construction industry, including commercial and residential building. Dennis Duerr joined EDiS as a senior project manager. A seasoned construction professional, he most recently worked for Turner International, for which he managed three high-rise projects in Jakarta, Indonesia. Javier Bedolla Pantoja, who recently earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware, is assisting with EDiS’ Building Information Modeling Services. Chris Sanchez joined the company as a project manager. With 19 years of experience in commercial construction management, Sanchez has completed projects in a variety of sectors, including office space, life science, hospitality and aviation.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Heather Flanagan recently was named the new director of PNC Wealth Management in Delaware. In her new role as director and senior vice president, she will lead the Delaware team of investment professionals and relationship managers in delivering wealth management solutions, including investments, fiduciary, retirement and wealth planning. Flanagan joined PNC in 2012 as a member of the PNC Delaware Trust Company before transitioning to the role of senior wealth planner in Philadelphia. She previously worked as the managing partner of a boutique trusts and estate law firm in Florida. Flanagan earned her law degree and a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Florida. She also received a certified specialist in planning giving from the University of California.

LAW

Two partners at the Wilmington-based law firm Morris James LLP recently were selected as fellows of the American Bar Foundation. Lewis H. Lazarus and Joseph R. Slights III were chosen in recognition of their achievements and dedication to the welfare of the community and highest principals of the legal profession. Membership is limited to one third of 1 percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Lazarus and Slights were nominated by fellows in Delaware and elected by the American Bar Foundation. Both men are members of Morris James corporate and litigation group. Lazarus chairs the firm’s corporate and fiduciary litigation practice group and focuses his practice on corporate governance counseling, along with corporate and commercial litigation. Slights chairs the firm’s alternative dispute resolution practice group and focuses his practice on complex commercial and corporate matters.

William Marsden Jr. and Douglas McCann, both lawyers in Fish & Richardson’s Wilmington office, recently were selected for inclusion in 2016 listing of The Best Lawyers in America. Published by Best Lawyers since 1983, the ranking is based on more than 6 million evaluations of lawyers by lawyers. Marsden was named Best Lawyer for intellectual property litigation and patent litigation, while McCann was named Best Lawyer for white-collar criminal defense. The founder and former managing principal of the firm’s Delaware office, Marsden’s practice focuses on patent litigation in Delaware District Court and other federal courts. He has participated in more than 30 patent trials, including more than 20 jury trials. McCann is the current managing principal of the firm’s Delaware office. A former assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Delaware, his practice emphasizes patent and intellectual property litigation with a focus on life sciences.

MANUFACTURING

Precision AirConvey, a provider of trim and matrix waste removal systems, recently announced the promotion of Kevin Bock to director of technical sales. In his new role, he will manage all sales representatives while representing the division to outside clients and companies. He also will join the company’s six-member leadership team. Bock previously served as a regional sales manager and national key account manager in the company’s sales department. He joined Precision AirConvey in 2006 as an inside sales associate, which grew into a sales manager role in the company’s Southeast and West Coast territories. Prior to joining the company, Bock worked at Unishippers and MBNA. A resident of Delaware, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. He also volunteers for the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual disABILITIES and serves on the organization’s golf tournament committee.

NONPROFITS

Deborah Burton recently joined the Delaware Community Foundation (DCF) as a data analyst. The new position is part of the foundation’s expansion of its statewide community engagement role. In her new role, Burton will help create system protocols, reports and analyses, including the new DCF Indicator Project to be launched this fall. She also will act as a resource for the foundation’s community knowledge and funds development initiatives. Burton has more than 15 years of private- and public-sector management experience, including stints with the Delaware Division of Public Health and the Delaware Division of Libraries.

REAL ESTATE

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors recently welcomed three new sales associates. Shawn Furrowh joined the firm’s Newark office and will serve New Castle County. Fran Tisdale joined the Bear Office and will serve New Castle County. Tashnique Sewell joined the Newark office and will serve the entire state.

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors recently recognized John Luca, a sales associate in the firm’s Hockessin-Pike Creek Marketing Center, for being the office leader in listings, volume and units in July. Licensed since 2005, Luca is an 18-year resident of Pike Creek.

Seaford real estate firm Callaway, Farnell and Moore recently announced its top producers for July. Bev Blades was the firm’s top listing agent, while Randy Hill was the top selling agent.

Patterson-Schwartz Real Estate recently welcomed three new sales associates to its Newark Sales Center. Wilmington resident Sha-Fequah Riddick has a background in sales and apartment leasing. Bear resident Melvin J. Novak has experience in real estate investing and spent more than 10 years in the customer service and retail management industries. He also volunteers with Justice 4 PA Kids. New Castle resident Michelle Quaranta has 24 years of experience in property management and served eight years as executive director of the Delaware Apartment Association. She also is owner of 2nd Act Antiques, Collectibles and Treasures in New Castle, as well as a volunteer for Faithful Friends Animal Society.
