The old High Shoals bridge, once a pivotal bridge drivers relied on to cross the South Fork River, now mainly serves as a backdrop for photo shoots.

It also provides an atypical fishing pier.

We’re writing a story about why town officials keep the old bridge in place 32 years after its replacement was erected.
