A ROMANIAN street dog with three legs and one eye has continued to inspire his owner to help more dogs in distress and give them loving homes.

Tania Morris of Church Road, Worcester has now become a UK Manager for Angel Watch Rescue & Rehome, the charity which saved Peg, since dubbed 'the Wonder Dog'.

We have previously reported how Peg is now a world away from the filthy and cramped public shelter in Hunedoara where she suffered from an eye and leg infection without any veterinary help.

Mrs Morris of Worcester said: "We’re continuing to save the lives of the dogs from the streets and shelters of Romania.

"Peg is very much still an ambassador for rescue dogs and due to her appearance has raised a lot of questions and awareness for tripawds, blind dogs and rescues.

"In fact she gets more ‘good mornings’ than I do. She is happy, healthy and going from strength to strength."

A charity dog show is to take place on Saturday, July 18 which help cover the cost of the charity's vet bills, foster care for the dogs and food until a new home can be found.

The fundraiser is being held at The Shed Food & Drink, near Stourport on Severn with registration for the show opening at 11am and the first class starting at noon.

The show will also include craft stalls, a barbecue, licensed bar and restaurant, tombola and plenty of parking.

Mrs Morris said: "We currently have 56 dogs in for rehoming at present and several of these have undergone life saving treatment.

"The ‘Angels’ of Angel Watch will be attending the show and we will have a couple of our rescued dogs making a guest appearance (including Peg the Wonder Dog).

"We will also have details of dogs for adoption and can answer any questions that potential adopters might have if they are considering adopting a dog from overseas. We can also advise on fostering a dog or sponsorship."

The fundraiser has been sponsored by Ambleside Vet Centre and Marlin Rosettes.

The vets will also be judging the show as well as being vets on call for the day.
