Wanderers have triggered an extension in Aaron Holloway's contract which will see the striker remain at Adams Park until the end of the 2015/16 season.

The news will come as a boost to fans who feared the forward's impressive performances in recent weeks would attract admrining glances from club's higher up the Football League.

Holloway, who joined the Blues after his release from Newport County last summer, originally penned a deal until January but saw it extended until the end of the season after doing enough to impress Gareth Ainsworth.

The 22-year-old struggled for a prolonged run in the side for much of the season but a spell of six starts in the last eight games, which has seen him score three goals, has put his potential firmly on display.

The Wycombe manager has previously called Holloway his "project" and said he expected that bigger clubs would soon be circling.

Ainsworth said: “When Aaron came to us last summer, he was very raw, but we knew with hard work we would be able to unlock the potential in him.

“He’s come on leaps and bounds and is really showing that he’s capable of fulfilling that potential, so much so that he’s received interest from other clubs.

“We’re delighted that he’s staying with us and I’m excited about the prospect of having a fully-fit, confident Aaron Holloway in my squad for the 2015/16 season.”
