Further to Tommy Warrilow completing his role until the end of last season we are extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Russell as the new manager of CWFC with immediate effect.

Tony, firmly supported by Ray Powell, as an ex Cray player has achieved instant success with Erith Town and VCD taking the latter from the Kent League through Ryman North to Ryman Premier in just 2 years.

Along this short but impressive journey he was awarded the ‘Ryman North Manager of the Year’ award by Theo Paphitis at Wembley by having a non-compromising attitude towards ‘believing’ you can win every game and giving his teams the confidence to deliver disciplined, quality football.

Gary Hillman said “Everyone at Cray would like to thank Tommy for helping the Club out. We wish him all the best in his next managerial role.”

Gary now feels that Tony and Ray are the perfect team to carry that momentum on from the 1st day of next season

Tony’s ambition is to one day manage as a professional and says “I respect Crays historical heritage as the oldest club but I feel I am at the beginning of ‘something special’ for Crays future without there being any limitation to where the club can progress to“.

Cray welcome Tony and Ray and excitedly look forward to building our vision working with their talents and winning mentality.
