A SUPERMARKET in Clacton is set to extend its evening opening hours.
The Morrisons store, at Waterglade Retail Park in Old Road, will extend its trading hours from Monday.
It will now be open from 8am to 9pm Monday to Saturday, due to demand from customers.
Barry Day, store general manager, said: “We know that many customers in our area work shifts, flexitime and have busy family schedules.
“We want to be open for our customers when they need us.
“An extension to evening opening hours will mean that people can pop in for freshly prepared foods later in the day.”
Morrisons said the hour-long extension to evening opening hours would mean customers would have the opportunity to shop for freshly prepared foods for breakfast, lunch and evening mealtimes.
On offer are fresh meat and fish prepared by academy-trained butchers and fishmongers, and a variety of oven-baked breads and cakes.
The extension is part of a “significant investment programme” to make shopping trips easier for customers.
Improvements include the redesign of stores, the refurbishment of baby change and toilets, and the updating of car park controls.
