Synopsis: The Manitowoc Bandits are seeking dedicated and qualified players for the upcoming season as well as a manger. The Bandits are part of the Northeastern Wisconsin League. Games are generally played on week nights from late May to early August.

BOWLING

What: Manitowoc Bowling Association Hall of Fame nominations

Where: Nomination forms available at all local bowling centers
Synopsis: The Manitowoc Bowling Association is seeking nominees for its Hall of Fame. To be eligible bowlers must have bowled in the MBA for at least 10 years, and be at least 50 years of age at time of nomination. Bowlers will be considered on their skills, repute and their contributions to the sport of bowling. Active as well as deceased bowlers are eligible. Inductees will be honored at the annual awards dinner to be held at 7 Lakes on May 2.

What: Manitowoc Bowling Association baker doubles tournament
When: Today at 1 p.m., sign in starts at noon
Where: Meadow Lanes North
Cost: $60 per team
Synopsis: The bakers format places emphasis on the team effort rather than individual accomplishments of team members. All team members follow each other in regular order to bowl a single game. Each team will bowl six games. In games, bowler No. 1 will bowl the odd frames in games 1-3-5 and the even frames in games 2-4-6. Bowler No. 2 will bowl the even frames in games 1-3-5 and the odd frames in games 2-4-6. Handicap will be 90 percent of 225. Entry blanks are available at all bowling centers in Manitowoc Bowling Association.

HALL OF FAME

What: 39th annual Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame enshrinement banquet
When: April 29 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Holiday Inn
Synopsis: The Lakeshore All Sports Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for male and female senior college athletic awards and achievement/recognition awards. Any male or female who participated in spring sports in 2014 or who will graduate in May 2015 is eligible. Names and a brief resume should be sent by Feb. 28. The Hall of Fame is also accepting nominations for individuals to be honored with an achievement/recognition award. The deadline for submitting nominations for this award is March 10.

PICKLE BALL

Where: Rocheleau Gym
Cost: $21
Synopsis: Pickle Ball is a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, played on a mini tennis court with what looks like oversized ping pong paddles and a whiffle ball. Participants sign up as an individual with team pairing determined weekly. Players need their own racket although shuttlecocks are provided.

What: 3rd Annual Aurora Health Care Two Rivers 10-Mile Run, 3-Person Relay, and 2-Mile Run/Walk
When: March 22; 8 a.m. for the 10-mile run and 3-person relay; 8:10 a.m for the 2-mile run/walk
Where: Two Rivers High School
Synopsis: The race will feature USATF certified course, technical shirts, bib chip timing, quality awards, music, post-race massages, and free chili feed.

What: 4th annual HFM Maritime Marathon and 1st annual half-marathon
When: June 14 at 7 a.m.
Where: UW-Manitowoc
Cost: Marathon price $75 from now-March 31, $85 after March 31. Half-marathon $60 and increases to $75 through May 31. Four person relay is $200 now-May 31.
Synopsis: Registration for the 2015 HFM Maritime Marathon is now open. The 4th annual event will include, for the first time ever, a half-marathon. The half-marathon course features a 13.1 mile run along the shoreline of Lake Michigan. To register, visit maritimemarathon.org. Not a runner? There are still many opportunities to get involved including becoming a sponsor, volunteering or simply cheering runners on along the course.

Synopsis: Proceeds benefit the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic School Athletic Association. The public is welcome to attend. Admission is free. Food and refreshments are available.
