Mike Trout’s selection as American League MVP drew all the praise you’d expect from the Angels organization.

Here’s a look at what the Angels are saying in a news release about their young star:

Angels manager Mike Scioscia: “Mike has had an incredible start to his career. His play this year totally embodies what an MVP is all about. His terrific performance, along with his selfless style of play, has made him a tremendous leader on this team.”

Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto: “Mike Trout has been an all around force over the past three seasons. This honor is well deserved and further affirms his position as the premier player in the game. We are all proud of his accomplishments and thrilled that he’s a part of the Angels family.”

Former Angel Vladimir Guerrero, the 2004 AL MVP: “I feel very happy for Mike, a gifted baseball player and a solid person, who has used his talent and his passion to earn this award. So exciting to see another AL MVP wearing the Angels uniform. I also want to thank Mike for wearing my favorite number.”

Angels hitting coach Don Baylor, the 1979 AL MVP: “Think about that his first three years he’s been one of the top candidates for MVP. He’s loaded with talent, loves to play and walks the walk. He’s held up under the pressure and done it with great humility. He definitely got my vote. It may be his first MVP, but it won’t be his last.”

Angels assistant hitting coach Dave Hansen: “Mike is the most dynamic player I’ve seen in this generation. He changes games offensively, defensively and on the basepath with his electric combination of speed and power. He’s got my vote for MVP.”

Angels minor league hitting coordinator Paul Sorrento: “You could argue this could be Mike’s third MVP in a row, if it weren’t for Miguel Cabrera. At the age of 23, it’s scary how good he’s going to be in his prime.”

Angels first baseman and three-time NL MVP Albert Pujols: “Couldn’t be happier for Mike and his family, truly a well-deserved honor. Mike respects the game and plays it the right way. It’s a privilege to have him as a teammate and a friend.”

Angels left fielder and 2010 AL MVP Josh Hamilton: “He has been tremendously blessed and continues to get the most out of his amazing talent. You watch some of the balls he hits or the plays he makes and are so thankful he is on our team! He means so much to the Angels organization as a person and a player. The sky is the limit for Mike.”
