Energiya Global to build solar array in Georgia

The solar array, to be built through subsidiary Energiya USA will have a capacity of 17.68 megawatts.

Following the climate conference in Lima, Peru, Energiya Global, managed by co-founder, president, and CEO Yosef Abramowitz, has signed an agreement to construct the first solar array in eastern Georgia in the US. The contract, signed this week, is for over NIS 100 million.

The solar array, to be built through Energiya USA, a subsidiary of Energiya Global, will have a capacity of 17.68 megawatts. The field will supply electricity to residents of the area over the next 20 years. The company believes that its array will be connected to the regional electrical grid by December 31, 2015.

The company will launch the construction of the first solar array in an East African country next month, at a cost of NIS 85 million. This project is expected to increase the country's power production capacity by 7%.

Abramovitz says, "As an Israeli company, we're proud to help a US state to realize the existing solar energy potential in its territory. The environmental and educational impact of an investment in environmentally friendly and renewable energy is very important for the company."

Enlight Renewable Energy Solutions Ltd. (TASE:ENLT) today announced the sale of the Wroblew project, a wind energy farm in Poland with a 38-megawatt capacity, to a large European corporation. Enlight owns a 25% stake in the project, and is selling all its rights in the project, together with its partners. It was reported that the company invested NIS 19 million in the project only three months ago, and its proceeds from the sale will be NIS 34 million, reflected an 80% profit on the investment. Enlight added that the European corporation was acquiring the project after its construction had been completed, and the stage of full commercial operation had been reached.
