Scottish League Two roundup: Arbroath ease past East Stirlingshire

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday afternoon's Scottish League Two action as Arbroath ease past East Stirlingshire 4-0 and Queen's Park also win.

Arbroath maintained their grip on the top spot in Scottish League Two after an impressive 4-0 victory over East Stirlingshire.

Goals from Ali El-Zubaidi and Bobby Lin ensured that the hosts went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead, and there was no letup for the Shire in the second half as Kevin Buchan and Simon Murray added to the score.

Queen's Park remain second as they eased past 10-man Montrose. The visitors had a nightmare start when Stuart McKenzie was sent off after conceding a penalty which Chris Duggan converted. David McGregor wrapped up the win on the cusp of half time with a strike from close range.

Berwick were held 1-1 at home by Elgin City after Paul Currie's 31st-minute goal was cancelled out by Kevin Finlayson, who struck just before half-time.

It was all square between East Fife and Annan Athletic, also. Peter Weatherston scored late on to earn his side a point after Caolan McAleer finished well in the 10th minute.

Scott McManus bagged a brace for Clyde, but that was not enough for them to overcome 10-man Albion Rovers as they drew 2-2 at Cliftonhill. Scott Chaplain and Mark McGuigan secured the point for the hosts. Ciaran Donnelly was shown a red card early on when he conceded a penalty.

Results in full: Albion Rovers 2-2 Clyde, Arbroath 4-0 East Stirlingshire, Berwick 1-1 Elgin City, East Fife 1-1 Annan Athletic, Queen's Park 2-0 Montrose
