Mazda delivers miles to RSA milestone

Mazda New Zealand has shown support for the Royal New Zealand Returned & Services Association (RNZRSA) by providing them with a new Mazda6 wagon and sedan. The new vehicles will be used to assist with the many events taking place around the country to mark the 2015 centenary commemorations.

This sponsorship comes as the RNZRSA announces the establishment of the RSA National Association, a new style of online membership open to kiwis of all ages, in an effort to attract younger generations and families to the organisation.

“2015 is a significant year for the RSA with events taking place throughout the year as part of New Zealand’s 100 year commemorations of World War One. We also applaud the RSA on the innovative new National Association and encourage Kiwis to become part of the movement,” says, Glenn Harris, General Manager, Vehicle Sales and Marketing, Mazda New Zealand.

“There are definitely strong parallels between our two organisations, especially when it comes to community spirit. Mazda New Zealand prides itself on being an active member in the communities we operate in and the RSA’s effort to re-connect itself as the heart of the community for families and individuals definitely struck a chord. We’re delighted to be in a position to help.”

The team at RNZRSA have received a Mazda6 Sedan and Wagon dressed in a revitalised livery that was introduced in conjunction with the RNZRSA rebranding in 2014.

David Moger, RNZRSA Chief Executive said “We are very grateful for the support Mazda have provided with these two vehicles and they will make a real difference to the work we do. We have already had numerous comments about the way they look and the profile they are giving to the RSA. To have both of them parked outside our National Council when the Governor General and the Prime Minister arrived was a very special moment.

“The coming year is probably one of the biggest in the RSA’s history. It commemorates a key milestone since New Zealand’s involvement in WW1 and allows us to remember those who fought on battlefields thousands of miles from home and in many cases paid the ultimate sacrifice.”

Currently the RNZRSA has 182 RSA centers throughout the country and a total membership of 105,000. Upcoming events as part of the 100 year commemoration include the opening of the National War Memorial Park, and the ANZ RSA Cyril Bassett VC Speech Competition.
