A childhood dream finally materialised on Wednesday evening when a new high-end Suva nightclub opened its doors for business on Gordon Street.

President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau opened the Onyx Platinum Nightclub. The nighclub is part of the Onyx Entertainment Limited business and an extension of the Onyx Bar just above the nightclub which opened in 2012.

Managing director, Sean Chow, stood proud in front of guests saying it was yet another milestone for his company. The company invested about $750,000 in the nighclub.

“My friends and valued customers let me tell you our success is being simple,” he told over 100 guests at the opening.

“Due to your tireless support and enthusiasm through all the year and your patronage with us, we have become bigger, stronger and more confident to bring you the best possible service while continuing to serve with the highest quality of drink from our suppliers.”

Onyx Platinum Limited, he said, was created to bring new and improved and unique dynamic space to the people of Suva City to experience nightclubbing at its best.

“Our nightclub has been fitted with state-of-the-art equipment system and most importantly one of the most highly sophisticated draft beer systems,” Mr Chow said.

The Onyx Platinum Nightclub is one of eight companies established by the Chow family.

Parent Company, Fresh’et International, has been operating in Fiji since 1993 owned by Richard Chow, father of Sean. In total, all sister companies employ approximately 215 people.

Ratu Epeli said: “The father and son combination of Richard and Sean tell me that their company is still going strong all the way.

“Richard and Sean are key players in reforming the Suva nightlife and patrons can expect the Onyx Platinum Nightclub to do no less bringing a new era in top entertainment in Suva.

“With the opening of high-end accommodation in Suva like the Grand Pacific Hotel, Onyx and other establishments have invested in areas that could raise the capital’s profile to tourists and locals alike.”
