French Deli opens at Miromar Outlets

French Deli has opened in Suite 81 near Bloomingdale’s The Outlet Store at Miromar Outlets in Estero. The new restaurant features French inspired salads, sandwiches, tapas, crêpes, desserts and other specialty items.

The restaurant’s French-born chef was trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. The proprietors also own and operate the Bon Appétit restaurant at Miromar Outlets, a Parisian-style French bistro.

Expo to focus on Dominican Republic, Miami

Above Board Chamber of Florida, in partnership with the Hispanic American Business Alliance, will present the local business community with an opportunity to do business with the Dominican Republic and businesses from Miami at the First SW Florida Doing Business with the Dominican Republic Luncheon and Business Expo, to be hosted at the Landings in Fort Myers on Thursday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

This event features a panel discussion on new business opportunities in Southwest Florida and the Dominican Republic.

A business delegation from the Dominican Republic will be in attendance looking to do business with local businesses.

Tickets are $22 for chamber members and $28 for non-members.

Economic development council names officers, board

The Bonita Springs Estero Economic Development Council recently announced the new officers on its board of directors. They include John Kozak of FineMark National Bank and Trust as chairman, Bryan Filson of Nova Wealth Management as secretary, and Tom Goettel of Shaw Development as treasurer.

Beginning their first three-year term on the board of directors are: Tom Goettel of Shaw Development, Bob Johns of Lee Memorial Health System, Matt Stepan of Premier Commercial, and Susan Takacs of Physicians Regional Healthcare System.

Those returning to the board of directors are Patti Byers of Florida Community Bank, Bill Campos of Monarch Builders of SW Florida, Jan-Erik Hustrulid of Owen-Ames-Kimball Co., Richard Mancini of Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, and Ben Nelson Jr. of Nelson Marine Construction.

Clarification

The location and dealer for the Indian motorcycle dealership coming to Lee County has not been decided. A story in Tuesday’s paper was unclear on that issue.

Stevens Construction adds project manager

Stevens Construction has expanded its Fort Myers team with the addition of project manager Ken Kensinger.

Kensinger joins the company with more than 26 years of construction experience with a specialty in health care construction. Kensinger previously served as project manager for a construction management firm where he completed more than $30 million in construction for the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach.

Mohney gets recertified in Social Security disability trial law

Douglas Mohney of the law firm, Avard Law Offices, has achieved recertification as a Social Security disability trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mohney has been a NBTA member for five years and an attorney for 22 years.

The screening of credentials that all NBTA board certified attorneys must successfully complete includes: demonstration of substantial trial experience, submission of judicial and peer references to attest to their competency, attendance of continuing legal education courses and proof of good standing.

Allinder named head golf professional

Joe Allinder has been named head golf professional at Imperial Golf Club. He will plan, promote, and direct all golf activities; manage the pro shop; provide golf lessons to members and guests; design and conduct special golf clinics; organize and conduct all club tournaments and charity endeavors; and represent the club in area professional events.

Allinder was the first assistant golf professional at Imperial Golf Club from 1994 to 1999 before taking the role of head golf professional at Highland Woods Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs and then head golf professional at Spring Run Golf Club, where he spent the past 12 years.
