HIGH POINT — A High Point girl was found near her home Friday, several hours after being reported missing.
Olivia Hedgpath, 13, was uninjured, according to police, and taken to her parents after being found.
High Point police Capt. Mike Kirk said Hedgpath was home this morning when her parents left for work and was supposed to get on a bus to go to Southwest Guilford High. But when her father came home for lunch, Kirk said, the girl’s house key was still inside the home even though she wasn’t there.
He called the school and asked if she was there. She wasn’t — and she didn’t get on the bus either.
Police were notified shortly thereafter.
A few hours later, officers found her in woods behind her house on Tellmont Court, although no reason was given why she was missing.
