Amber Beverage opens new logistics centre in Latvia

A new logistics centre, Amber Logistics, part of the international spirits company Amber Beverage Group, was opened in Stopiņi county, near the capital city Riga. Amber Logistics centre will specialise in storage of alcoholic beverages and provision of transportation services in the Baltic Region, reported BC communicationsm manager of Amber Beverage Group Dana Hasana.

Over 500 thousand euros were invested in the development of the new logistics centre. It is expected that the annual cargo turnover at the Amber Logistics will be 35 million litres which is equal to almost 25% of all alcoholic beverage (except beer) transferred in Latvia in 2013.

 

Amber Logistics will be one of the largest specialised logistics service centres in Latvia with the total area of more than 12 thousand square metres. It houses the domestic market goods of producer, JSC Latvijas Balzams, the imports and wholesale goods warehouse of SPI Distribution Latvia, and the company headquarter.

 

Amber Logistics will initially provide services to the companies of the Amber Beverage Group in Latvia, mainly JSC Latvijas Balzams and  SPI Distribution (Latvia) Ltd, to improve their cargo handling and storage operations. Next year  we shall start providing our services to other Group companies in the Baltic Region, and offer an outsourced logistics service for third parties,' informs Aigars Germanis, Commercial director of Amber Beverage Group.

 

The territory of the Amber Logistics centre will also accommodate the offices and warehouses of the distributor of alcoholic beverages SPI Distribution (Latvia). The turnover of the company last year reached more than 89 million Euro, and it is the largest distributor of alcoholic beverages in Latvia, representing such brands as Stolichnaya, Moskovskaya, Remy Martin, Metaxa, Tullamore Dew, Grants, Zelyonaya Marka, Bosca, Jagermeister, Jim Beam, Red Bull, Vittel, Frontera, Riga Black Balsam, Bonaparte, Rigas sampanietis, Moka,  and other.
