PEOPLE looking for the ideal vacancy or thinking of moving jobs are invited to an event that will present plenty of opportunities.

The Salisbury Journal Job Fair is being held at the Guildhall, Salisbury, on October 14 from 10am to 3pm.

The fair is a great chance to learn more about the qualifications and skills needed to secure roles in a wide range of job sectors including: care, engineering, health, logistics, transport, finance and a whole lot more.

This free-to-enter event is suitable for candidates looking for full or part-time vacancies, permanent or temporary – as well as voluntary, apprenticeships, courses or people simply needing career advice.

Among those attending is Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. A spokesman said: “We provide a broad range of services for the populations served by Wiltshire, Dorset and West Hampshire clinical commissioning groups, alongside highly regarded specialist services with excellent clinical networks both locally and nationally.

“We are actively recruiting and have vacancies for a wide range of staff.”

Leah Mynett, from Mears Group, which will also have a stand at the event said: “Mears Care provides care and support services for clients in their own homes. We are looking for people who think they have the potential to be great care workers, no experience is necessary as we offer full training and development.”

Geoff McEntee from Salisbury Jobcentre said: “Jobcentre Plus offices have flexibility to offer the following measures to help claimants back to work in their area, based on claimant and local labour market characteristics.”

He said the Job Centre could help young people gain valuable work experience; provide training and a guaranteed interview in those sectors with high volumes of local vacancies.

He said they can help people who want to start their own business through the New Enterprise Allowance scheme.

Those participating include: Learn Direct, Cathedral Gate, Transitions Transformers, Meridian Business Support Ltd, Team Brain Injury, Mears Care Ltd, Salisbury NHS foundation Trust, Utility Warehouse, Ashley Grange Nursing Home, Jobcentre Plus, James Hay, Order of St John Care Trust, Backline Logistics, Ayres Heating, New Hall Hospital and Bluebird Care.
