Now open: Bed & Butter retail shop in downtown Ann Arbor

Rock Paper Scissors owner Lisa Roberts put a different spin on her new downtown Ann Arbor retail shop.

Bed & Butter, which opened 10 a.m. Friday at 333 S. Main St., carries home, kitchen, gift and baby items. The store also has a registry program for weddings, baby showers and other events.

Bed & Butter’s tagline is “have or give only that which brings utility or beauty into the home.”

Roberts said she was inspired to open the store after Rock Paper Scissors customers kept asking for advice on where to buy a wedding or baby gift.

“We’re just really excited to be able to be in Ann Arbor, on Main Street, and providing people with a great place to buy home goods and gifts,” Roberts said.

Rock Paper Scissors opened in June 2012 at 216 S. Main St. The store carries a mix of unique gift products, along with personalized stationery and wedding invitations. There is also a Rock Paper Scissors store in Tecumseh.

Roberts said Bed & Butter complements Rock Paper Scissors, and she’s able to play an active role in day-to-day operations at both stores. Bed & Butter opened in the former La Belle Maison space just south of Rock Paper Scissors. La Belle Maison closed in July.

Bed & Butter’s hours are: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
