Celebrity Concerts

MOUNTAIN VIEW — The Doyle Dykes Celebrity Concert will be held Friday at Ozark Folk Center State Park. The Jones Family Band will open the show as part of the park’s Grandpa Jones Weekend. Solemn Old Judge Days

MAMMOTH SPRING — The 25th annual Solemn Old Judge Days will be held Friday and Saturday in Mammoth Spring. Admission is free. Gospel singing will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the multipurpose building at Mammoth Spring High School. Saturday’s events will include a pancake breakfast from 6-10 a.m. at the Mammoth Spring Fire Station; an antique car show at Mammoth Spring State Park, with gates opening at 9 a.m.; and a quilt show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mammoth Spring Floral Express on Main Street. There will also be a flag ceremony, a re-enactment of the early 1900s Citizens Bank robbery, an antique tractor-and-farm-equipment exhibit, a cornhole tournament, children’s activities, music shows, a yard sale and other festivities. Run With the Beavers

MAMMOTH SPRING — The fourth annual Run With the Beavers fun run/walk to raise funds for scholarships to Ozarka College will start at 8 a.m. at the Tourist Information Center in Mammoth Spring State Park. The event, sponsored by the children and grandchildren of Don and Christine Beavers, will be approximately 5K and will traverse residential areas of Mammoth Spring. The entry fee is $15. Dog Adoption Fair

BEEBE — Beebe Animal Control will host a Dog Adoption Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Beebe Animal Shelter, 1401 E. Center St. There will be a water slide and a bouncy house for the kids, as well as free hot dogs, popcorn and drinks. Art Exhibit

SEARCY — The Shades of ART exhibit, featuring the work of artist Angela Renee Turney of Judsonia, will be on display through Sept. 23 at the Searcy Art Gallery.

Art Competition

CALICO ROCK — The Questers and the Calico Rock Museum Foundation are looking for an artist to draw a design for the first Calico Rock Cutout, a character of the artist’s choice, for the Coal House Pioneer Exhibit, one of many characters and local historical figures that will be placed around Main Street. The winning artist will receive a plaque commemorating this life-sized, old-town art, a $100 prize and all paints needed to finish the character. All designs are due Sept. 30. Horseshoe Bend Farmers Market

Batesville Farmers Market

BATESVILLE — The new Batesville Main Street Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to noon every second Saturday through November in the pocket park on Batesville’s historic Main Street. SEARCY — The first Searcy Art Walk hosted by the Searcy Arts Council will be held Sept. 5. Heber Springs Scholarship Scramble

Lake, River Cleanup

GREERS FERRY — The 45th annual Greers Ferry Lake and Little Red River Cleanup will be held Sept. 6 at various marinas and the federal fish hatchery. Volunteers will meet at the various locations to pick up trash along designated shoreline areas. Party barges will be used to transport the volunteers.
