Steel & Tube Holdings Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of
experienced senior executive Marc Hainen to the position of General Manager -
Distribution, based in Auckland.
As previously communicated, this role is a combination of the existing GM
Distribution role with that of the currently vacant GM Marketing position.
The combined role is expected to lead to a closer connection with our
customers in each of the channels that we operate, and also cost savings
resulting in a reduction in our corporate overheads.
Steel & Tube Interim CEO Mark Malpass said Marc was a natural fit for the
role.
"Marc brings significant experience in the steel and construction industry in
New Zealand. He has an outstanding breadth and depth of experience in sales
and marketing management, operations and manufacturing as well as logistics
and supply chain."
For over twenty years, Marc has held a variety of management and leadership
roles in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, including multiple roles leading
a variety of divisions within Fletcher Building Limited. Roles have included
General Manager of Steel Distribution with Fletcher Easysteel/REO/Cyclone
wire, General Manager of Australia Distribution -Operations, Sales and
Marketing with Tradelink and Chief Operating Officer of Firth.
More recently Marc was General Manager - Queensland/NT of Metecno Pty Ltd
(Trading as Bondor Australia) in Brisbane, Australia''s largest manufacturer
and installer of insulated panel. Marc holds a Bachelor of Business (Massey
University) and Post Graduate Diploma in Business (University Auckland).
Mr Malpass said he was very confident that Marc''s strong people skills and
experiences, in particular the transformation of the Fletcher
Easysteel/REO/Cyclone wire business under Marc''s watch, will add significant
value to our business.
Marc will be relocating from Australia to begin the new role during the week
of 6 November.
