Auckland, 23 March 2017 - Fletcher Building today announced the appointment
of Michele Kernahan as Chief Executive, Construction effective immediately.
Fletcher Building Chief Executive Mark Adamson said Michele Kernahan is an
outstanding leader who has held a number of General Management positions
across the Fletcher Building group.
"Michele has an outstanding track record of delivery at Fletcher Building.
She is a strong people leader who has consistently developed a high
performance and customer leading culture within the business units she has
led. She is a great example of our commitment to developing our internal
talent and we are proud to announce her appointment."
Michele''s previous General Management roles at Fletcher Building include
Laminex Australia, Golden Bay Cement and Fletcher EQR where she led the team
managing the rebuild efforts in Christchurch. Michele has an MBA from
Canterbury University and has graduated from leadership and management
programmes at the Wharton Business School, Stanford University Graduate
School of Business and most recently the Harvard Business School.
Graham Darlow will retire at the end of the financial year. Mark Adamson
said the Board and Executive team would like to thank Graham for his
significant contribution to Fletcher Building over the past twenty nine
years.
"Graham Darlow has held the role of Chief Executive, Construction since
November 2011. He joined Fletcher Building in 1988 and during that time has
worked on many landmark construction projects in New Zealand including New
Zealand''s museum Te Papa, the Waterview Connection in Auckland and in 2016 he
was named Safeguard Executive of the Year for his leadership role in
improving subcontractor safety. We wish Graham all the very best for his
retirement".
