Vector advises that it has completed the acquisition of Contact''s gas
metering business, for NZ $59.9m which is for 128,000 gas meters located at
residential, commercial and industrial premises around the North Island.
Vector''s CEO Simon Mackenzie said the purchase would complement Vector''s
existing gas metering business and help ensure continued growth for Vector in
the metering sector.
"We have installed smart gas metering technology for an extended trial and in
the longer term we hope to retro-fit this technology on the acquired gas
meter fleet as customers request this service," he said.
